Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, undermined by natural disasters and diseases. On 12 January 2010, an earthquake caused 250,000 deaths and half a million people were also displaced. The Boccadamo wanted to bring a clear signal of reconstruction to this less fortunate nation. The initiative “One meter for Life”, linked to the launch of the TooBe brand in May 2011, made it possible to allocate 200 thousand euros for the construction of 40 dwellings in Cité Soleil, the poorest slum in the capital Port-au-Prince. The houses are colourful, pretty and formed a street, Rue Boccadamo, which opened on 12 January 2012, on the second anniversary of the earthquake.
